RVNA: close to the heart & home for Ridgefielder Suzanne Casey

Ridgefield resident Suzanne Casey shared the photo you see here on Facebook (and gave us permission to publish here). "The young and the old. Thank you RVNA," she wrote.

The photo shows Casey's grandmother Lois Spielman being treated by an RVNA nurse in the home of Casey's parents, Bette and Bob Spielman. The cute little girl looking on in awe is Casey's daughter (Spielman's great granddaughter).

When Suzanne was asked to volunteer on the RVNA Autumn Dinner committee, she had no idea that their services would hit so close to home. Her grandmother was recently discharged from hospital after surgery and in need of care.

"When I was asked and honored to be on the committee for the Autumn Dinner to support the RVNA, I had no idea that the same month my parents would be using their services for my grandmother, she had just had open heart surgery," Casey explains. "Your [the RVNA] service and love is humbling," she said.
