Ridgefield resident Evelyn Carr has been selected as a finalist in the Forte International Music Competition.
The competition is open to musicians throughout the world, and after two preliminary rounds, finalists have been selected from countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, Mexico and the USA.
As a finalist, Evelyn, a freshman at Ridgefield High School, will perform as a soloist at Carnegie Hall in the final round concert in February.
Evelyn won First Place in 2017 in the NY Lyric Opera National Vocal Competition, and she has performed with Chelsea Opera, Westchester Broadway Theatre, and on musical recordings.
Locally, she enjoys singing at patriotic events and at her church.
