Josephine (Uccellini) Boardman, 94, of Ridgefield, loving wife of Mr. Howard Boardman, passed away on December 24, 2017.

Mrs. Boardman was born in Norwalk on December 10, 1923; a daughter of the late Ferdinando and Inez (Regellini) Uccellini.
 
She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1942 where she met Howard Boardman in her senior year. Josephine and Howard started dating just prior to him entering the Navy in 1942. When he returned at the end of World War II, they married on March 5, 1946. They celebrated 71 years of marriage together. 
 
Mrs. Boardman worked at the Ridgefield Savings Bank for 23 years from 1960 to 1983. She served the banks clientele with a warm smile that transformed customers into friends. Josephine had a similar effect on everyone she knew because of her selfless compassion and genuine concern for others. She had a remarkable ability to remember personal details about the lives of friends and family. 
 
Mr. and Mrs. Boardman lived in the Deepwoods Acres community in Norwalk where they made many lifelong friends as they raised their family. After moving to California and then Florida, Josephine and Howard returned to Ridgefield. 
 
Mrs. Boardman is survived by her husband, Howard and their children; Howard Boardman Jr. and his wife, Meredith and Nancy Daly and her husband, Kevin. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Christopher, Jason and Adam Boardman and Sean Daly as well as 3 great grandchildren; Jack, Oliver and Eleanor Boardman.
 
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boardman was predeceased by a son, Lester Boardman.
 
Funeral services will be private; memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in charge of funeral arrangements.
