Saint Mary School Ridgefield is thrilled to announce that Science Teacher, Mrs. Jeanette Thompson is the recipient of not one, but two Foundations in Education Innovation and Leadership Grants! These grants promote excellence in school leadership, teaching and learning, for educators in the Diocese of Bridgeport through grant programs that fund innovation in classroom teaching and provide support for continuing education and leadership formation.
"I am thrilled to have been chosen to receive two Foundations in Education grants," says Thompson. "The first grant From Egg to Chick, the Life Cycle Project will complement the life cycle curriculum standards in Kindergarten, first and sixth grades. Students will have an opportunity to study the development of chicks through models and incubation of eggs," she adds.
According to Thompson, The second grant Spouting Seeds and Spreading Kindness Project will provide a horticultural opportunity as well as support curriculum standards for students in grades kindergarten, second, third, and sixth.
