Rock the Stage with Your Whole Self! That was the title and rallying cry of Christine O’Leary, the award-winning comedian, teacher, and public speaker expert who led the most recent Ms President US session. With more than 50 girls in the room, O’Leary challenged the participants to be true to themselves, to support each other, and to give it their all as they plan for their own campaign for President.
O”Leary is a big fan of the Ms President US program – she immediately made herself available when asked if she could teach the girls public speaking skills, saying, “I am deeply interested and invested in helping – I have lots of prior experience working with kids and young people in professional, personal and public speaking arenas and am scored to contribute to my home plate in the name of young women Presidents to be!”
Following O’Leary’s highly interactive and energetic presentation, the girls started to practice their own speeches, with O’Leary’s support as she walked around the room coaching and encouraging them in their efforts. She was funny, relatable, and inspired them to think about the importance of having more women in leadership roles.”
