On Sunday, February 18th we lost a dear friend and a long time supporter of the Ridgefield Theater Barn. If you live in Ridgefield you have been touched by all that Maureen has given to our town as our Treasurer but perhaps more importantly as one who worked tirelessly toward the betterment and beautification of our town from spring flowers to holiday lights at Christmas.
Maureen put her heart and soul into everything she did and the Theater Barn was just one of her passions. She was our Board Treasurer...that was her title. But she did so much more. Whatever needed to be done, Maureen was there lending a hand...picking up programs, helping with mailings, putting up posters, helping with the kids programs. Remember before we got the new easy wipe-down tables? For years Maureen spot treated and washed every tablecloth after every show and made sure they were back on the tables with tea light candles, ready for the next show. Remember before we had an online ticketing service? Maureen took all of the phone messages, processed the credit charges, assigned the tables making sure we got to sit with our friends...then made sure the volunteer in charge of the door had the schedule for the evening. And by the way, she was often that volunteer.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice and Homecare: 30 Milestone Road; Danbury, CT 06810,www.regionalhospicect.org
