Ridgefield Music Students Perform at Hilltop Music Collective Concert in Greenwich

Ridgefield students and Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra musicians Emma DiMiceli and Alice Townsend performed with the Hilltop Music Collective this weekend at Second Congregational Church in Greenwich, CT. 

Trumpeter Emma DiMiceli played alongside WCYO Music Director and Symphony Orchestra conductor Eric Mahl. WCYO Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Alice Townsend was also part of this prestigious ensemble, led by Tristan Rais-Sherman who is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Hilltop Music Collective as well as the WCYO String Ensemble conductor. The Ridgefield students joined the professional musicians in playing works by Bach and Beethoven.

The Hilltop Music Collective is a new musical community bringing together the best musicians from Greenwich and the surrounding areas for thrilling and engaging musical experiences. Their mission is to build and expand upon the fantastic groundwork laid by the Hilltop Chamber Music Series--to offer unique musical experiences showcasing a wide variety of music, ensembles and musicians. 

The Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra provides talented young musicians in the regional Connecticut and New York areas with exceptional learning and performance opportunities while fostering an awareness and appreciation of the enjoyment and power of music. The WCYO's Symphony Orchestra, String Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble currently consist of nearly one hundred auditioned musicians.
