A Mosaic that Unveils the Meaning of Lent at Saint Mary School in Ridgefield

"The Season of Lent is a period of reflection and preparation for Easter," says Amy Dowding, Director of Advancement at Saint Mary School in Ridgefield. To that end, SMS students in Grades K-8 are completing a mosaic puzzle. "Each grade has different colored stickers that they have to place on a coded grid. It will eventually reveal a picture and message to everyone,"  explains Dowding. "Have any guesses?" she adds.

The mosaic puzzle is not only a way for the K-8 school to mark the passage of time, but an opportunity for students to work together to uncover the message that the picture will depict.  "The students do not know what the ultimate image will be, but it has been so sweet to see them work diligently on their stickers, and make their observations each day as the image emerges. It has captured the attention of everyone!" says Dowding.
