On March 17th, the Ridgefield-based fencing academy Way Of The Sword had a "Y-12" tournament featuring 11 foil fencers from around the area.
Ridgefield Academy students Owen Abrahamsen of Wilton and Alex Safir of Ridgefield earned the two highest seeds based on the results of their five preliminary (round-robin) morning matches, and then each won their respective quarterfinal and semifinal matches.
Owen (silver) and Alex (gold) ultimately earned the top 2 medals in the foil tournament.
