Three Hamilton College female athletes earned All-Region honors for the 2018 NCAA Division III outdoor track and field season from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday, May 21 when the organization released its announcement.
Cat Berry '19 (Mansfield, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy), Grace Heller '19 (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield HS) and Mary Lundin '19 (Clarks Summit, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) were honored for their performance in the Atlantic Region this spring. The top five individuals in each event and all four members of the top three relays earned all-region distinction. The regions used for this award match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field seasons.
Berry is all-region for the 200-meter dash -- the event she is competing in this week at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She captured first place at the NESCAC championships with a season-best time of 24.87 seconds on April 28. Berry was indoor all-region for the 200 meters and the distance medley relay back in early March, and she earned all-region outdoor honors in 2017 for the 200.
Heller is all-region for the 10,000-meter run after she took third place in the event at the NESCAC championships with a season-best time of 36:42.26 on April 28. She competed on Hamilton's track and field team for the first time this season after she transferred from Fordham University.
Lundin is all-region for the 800-meter run after she finished sixth in the event at the NESCAC championships with a personal-record time of 2:15.29. She was indoor all-region as part of the Continentals' distance medley relay back in early March.
