The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield just announced that for the second consecutive year, their Torch Club members have won not one, but two National Program Awards from Boys & Girls Club of America.

Torch Club won in the area of Social Recreation for their Escape Night project, and in the area of Service to the Club and Community for their project Shamrocks for a Smile. What's more, Jeff Goncalves, Club Program Manager was named the 2018 National Torch Club Advisor of the Year!

Boys & Girls Club of America's National Director, Youth Development, Eve Respess said that Jeff won for his "stellar leadership, passionate efforts and overall excitement of Torch Club."  She went on to say "the impact that Jeff makes each and every day with our Ridgefield Torch Club members is legendary." The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield said, "We couldn't agree more, and we are so lucky to have him as our Program Manager at BGCR!"

There are only six Torch Club Programmatic Awards given out each year, and all 4,300 Club's Nationwide and Overseas are eligible to win. "It is a huge accomplishment to win just 1 award, and our Torch Club won 3 awards!" remarked The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield.

The awards are sponsored by Old Navy, and the Torch Club will receive a $2,500 grant for each award.

Congratulations to Torch Club members, to Jeff, Club Executive Director, Mike Flynn and to the entire Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield team!
