Obituary: Lillian M. Stangarone, 87, of Ridgefield

Lillian M. Stangarone, 87, of Ridgefield, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. She was the loving wife of Dominick M. Stangarone.
 
Lillian was born on April 1, 1931 and grew up in the Bronx. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dominick in 1952 and raised four children.
 
In 1995, Lillian and Dominick moved to Ridgefield to be with their daughter, who had begun a family. Lillian took great pleasure in spending time with her grandson, Matthew and then her granddaughter, Leanne; spending endless hours in Ballard Park and at family gatherings. She always looked forward to her vacations with her family.
 
In her younger days, Lillian was a champion Lindy dancer. Her positive attitude was contagious. She was a truly selfless person whose kindness was pure. She touched a lot of lives.
 
Lillian is survived by her husband, Dominick and their children, Mary Steinowitz, Lillian Keane, Dominick Stangarone and Jeanne Stangarone. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Matthew and Leanne Steinowitz; Laura and Jennifer Keane and Jean Marie, Robert, Eddie and Christina Pell. She is also survived by her twin sister Caroline Rugani and three other siblings.
 
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Regional Hospice of Danbury or the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association.
