Record Ridgefield Rotary Fly the Colors Program Growth Drives $18,000 Donation for Disabled Veterans

Fly The Colors continues to grow with approximately 500 Ridgefield participants!

Thanks to Ridgefield’s support of this program, Rotary made a donation of $18,000  to the UCONN Foundation to support the experiential training in entrepreneurship for post – 9/11 veterans with disabilities. This group helps wounded veterans return to work and start their own businesses.

This Entrepreneurship Boot camp for veterans is cutting edge.

Ridgefield Rotary Club of Ridgefield with the support of the Marine Corp League re-launched its innovative program that encourages the patriotic display of the American Flay on six American Holidays. This initiative is done in collaboration with the Ridgefield Marine Corps League and Ridgefield Supply Company.

Rotarians place an American Flag in front of the participant’s house for six major Holidays which are Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Patriot Day and Veterans Day.

The flag program is an annual, subscription-based service. The first year cost is $50.00. The cost is $25 thereafter. The proceeds benefit the veterans and their immediate families in the area. You can register and pay online
