Ridgefield resident donates her hair in honor of Brooke Blake

This Ridgefield resident is getting a back-to-school cut that will change a child's life!

Ridgefield resident Madison Couri is donating her hair to Wigs for Kids, a non-profit hair donation organization, in honor of fellow resident Brooke Blake.

On December 31, 2015, when Brooke was seven years old she diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). DIPG, is a rare form of brain cancer. Since that time, the community has been rallying behind the Blake family.

"It takes a village! Brooke travels to Mexico every 6 weeks for treatments,” explains Madison's mom Megan Couri, who is organizing Brooke’s Farmers’ Market, a fundraiser for the Blake family on August 26.

Madison will have her beautiful brown hair cut next week at Whip Salon in Ridgefield. “She has not had it cut in two years,” says Megan.
