The Ridgefield School of Dance welcomes new teacher to ballet department

Deanna Francesca Comes to Ridgefield School of Dance

The Ridgefield School of Dance has introduced a new teacher Deanna Francesca, to its ballet department staff for its 21st fall season.

Besides teaching classical ballet, Deanna has extensive experience teaching creative movement, pre-ballet, jazz, and contemporary ballet.
“I am so excited to welcome Deanna to our school,” said the school’s owner and director Alison Brown. “She encourages discipline and consistency in a dancer’s training, bringing out the best in a dancer and shares their love for the art. Not only does she have a well-rounded background in dance but her choreography and approach is inventive and will enhance our already-strong program.”
Deanna is excited to have joined the school, teaching the Monday Ballet 2, Ballet 3 and adult ballet classes. “My teaching goals for this year are to establish a strong foundation for these young dancers and provide them a nurturing environment where they can learn and grow,” she said. She is most looking forward to having the opportunity to work within a growing program and teaching another set of up-and-coming young dancers.

Deanna is a Danbury, Conn. native who began her training at an early age with Jacqueline Hanson and later went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in dance from Hofstra University under the direction of Lance Westergard and Stormy Brandenberger. Deanna has spent the past 15 years traveling the country, teaching and choreographing as well as serving as the artistic director of the Low Country School of Performing Arts in South Carolina. She also spent two years studying under Jayne Persch of Briah Danse Company as well as Boulder Ballet & Colorado Ballet. Former students there have gone on to dance with prestigious schools and companies, including the Governor’s School of the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, Charleston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Pilobolus, and Parsons. Deanna teaches both classical and contemporary ballet as well as jazz.

The Ridgefield School of Dance is located at 66 Grove Street. For more information, go to www.theridgefieldschoolofdance.com or call 203-894-5957.
