Ridgefield Rotary Food Drive Partnership With Stop & Shop Hits $500,000 Donation Milestone and Keeps Going!

Over five years ago The Ridgefield Rotary with the help of Stop & Shop was able to launch a food drive once a month on Saturday morning. Under the leadership of Barbara Lane and Geri Blair with the support of the Ridgefield Stop & Shop local management team of David Faccin and Ed Przydzial quickly grew. Volunteers from the various RHS and Youth organizations joined the initiative and helped drive even more growth. The volunteers do a great job standing outside in the cold, rain, snow or heat.

In October a milestone was reached as the partnership passed $500,000 in contributions to the Ridgefield food bank. The momentum continued in November as over $12,000 worth of food, cash and gift cards were donated to Tony Philips, Town of Ridgefield Social Services Director.

This could not have happened without the support of Ridgefield Stop & Shop Manager David Faccin, Lion Heart Volunteers, RHS Interact Club, Geri  Blair, Doug Hayden and the other Rotary volunteers.
