Two Ridgefielders Participating in the Northern Irish Connections Friendship Four tournament in Belfast

Two Ridgefielders will be hoping for the luck of the Irish this Thanksgiving weekend.

Ridgefielder Adam Karashik, a member of the University of Connecticut men's hockey team, traveled with his teammates this weekend to spend seven-days in Northern Ireland competing in the Northern Irish Connections Friendship Four tournament. The three other NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey teams competing for the prestigious Belpot Trophy are Boston University, Union College and Yale University. Another Ridgefielder, Chad Krys, is a member of the Boston University men's hockey team

Here's what Karashik had to say about the opportunity on the UConn Huskies website: "You don't get to play in Ireland every day," said sophomore defenseman Adam Karashik. "So that's something really special. It's different and it's expanding the game in so many ways. I have a couple buddies who play for Providence and they said last year for them was a great experience so I'm extremely excited to be there, all the guys are." To read the entire article, please click here.

Best of luck to both players!
