Social media is buzzing today about the outstanding athletic performance of the Ridgefield Girls Soccer team who beat Staples 1-0 yesterday at West Haven High School making the Tigers State Champions! The game was part of the 2018 Connecticut High School Girls Soccer Playoff Brackets: CIAC - Class LL tournament.
With six minutes to go in the first half, a defensive midfielder, Megan Klosowski, scored the game-winning goal with a header in off Faith Arnold’s corner ball. Tiger goalie Lauren Castle was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
In Ridgefield-style, the community gathered on Main Street Sunday to wish the girls with, holding signs, ringing cowbells and cheering.
