Ridgefielders Gather at The Lounsbury House to Honor Lives Lost to Gun Violence, Bell Rings 26 Times

This morning, Friday, December 14, vigils took place throughout the country to remember the 26 lives lost six years ago at Sandy Hook Elementary School as well as the more than 600,000 Americans killed or injured by guns since 12.14.2012.

Here in Ridgefield, a vigil took place at The Lounsbury House at 9:15 am. Attendees included First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield Police Chief Jeff Kreitz, local clergy, and Executive Director of Connecticut Against Gun Control, Jeremy Stein.

Stein, spoke briefly to attendees about the importance of smarter gun laws before he rang a bell 26 times in honor each precious life lost in Newtown six years ago.

Cantor Deborah Katchko Gray sang "Tree of Life":

O sweet spirit hear my prayer

Help these words heal someone out there

I am but a voice just a cry in the air

But I sing nonetheless in this pain we share
