Shop #CloseToHome for Thrown Stone this Holiday Season

Thrown Stone is calling its 2019 repertory season Close to Home, but not just because they're presenting two new plays about family. Close to Home is an ethos. Whenever possible, they do their shopping with the Ridgefield merchants who so generously support new theatre.

"Many of the things we need for our sets, lights, and costumes can be found right here in Ridgefield," says Co-Artistic Director, Jonathan Winn. "When you purchase something for Thrown Stone at a local business, you’re not just ensuring a successful season of new theatre — you’re helping Ridgefield thrive."

Thrown Stone's #CloseToHome Holiday Wishlist, published below, contains necessities for the Summer, 2019 Connecticut Premiere of Cry It Out by Molly Smith Metzler, and East Coast Premiere of Birds of North America by Anna Moench.

ABOUT THROWN STONE

Thrown Stone debuted in 2017 with the U.S. premiere of Milk, a new play by Scottish playwright Ross Dunsmore. A new theatrical experience for Ridgefield, Milk performed at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance on Main Street, where one of the dance studios was converted to serve as an intimate “black box” theatre. The production won critical praise, extended twice due to popular demand, and earned 15 BroadwayWorld award nominations.

In 2018, Thrown Stone presented two new plays in repertory: The New England Premiere of The Arsonists by Jacqueline Goldfinger, and the East Coast Premiere of Where All Good Rabbits Go by Karina Cochran, performed in rotating repertory.

In 2019, Thrown Stone returns to RCD with #CloseToHome: Two New Plays About How We Live With The Ones We Love The Most, featuring the Connecticut Premiere of Cry It Out by Molly Smith Metzler, and East Coast Premiere of Birds of North America by Anna Moench, July 12-August 3, 2019.
