Ridgefield Teens Present at Girl Scout Event Featuring Jennifer Palmieri

Ridgefield teens Alexia and Charlotte Anglade recently presented at a Girl Scouts of Connecticut event which featured Jennifer Palmieri, author of "Dear Madam President" and White House communications director for President Barack Obama and head of communications for the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign.

The message from the evening was women supporting women. Ms. Palmieri shared insights from her years in the White House and stressed the importance of women’s leadership in politics and in all fields. She emphasized that women are talented, dedicated, and filled with so much purpose.

In their presentations, Alexia and Charlotte shared their experiences from ten years as Girl Scouts. Charlotte, a junior at Ridgefield High School, has recently earned her Gold Award this past year, the highest award possible for a Girl Scout. Alexia, who is a freshman, has both her Bronze and Silver awards and is planning on earning Gold.

The girls also discussed their roles as teen mentors with Ms President US, a Ridgefield based non-profit dedicated to inspiring and preparing girls to aim for the highest civic leadership position.
