The Pilates Barre recently welcomed three Ridgefield High School (RHS) seniors as spring interns.
Ellie O'Connor, Brady McSpedon, and Luke Faillaci are all RHS student-athletes who are learning the ins and outs of operating a small business.
Sharon McSpedon, owner of The Pilates Barre said, “We are always excited to share our commitment to wellness with a new group of interns."
Ellie, a varsity lacrosse and field hockey player, is heading to Providence College in Rhode Island in the fall. Sharon's son, Brady has been a varsity hockey and lacrosse player and will soon be a student at The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Luke, who has been a member of RHS football, ski, and golf teams, is headed to Boston's Northeastern University.
The three interns are working together on a fundraising Bodhi class benefiting Ridgefield resident Brooke Blake who is battling DIPG, a rare form of brain cancer. "This year, they have put together a benefit fundraiser that takes place Thursday night on behalf of Brooke Blake and DIPG.
"With the help of our interns, we hope to fill - Bodhi for Brooke and Jumpboard Reformer For Brooke – to help raise much-needed funds. A suggested donation of $20 per student will reserve your spot. We hope you’ll join us and our interns on Thursday night, 6/13, at 5:45, for a class, raffles, and giveaways," explains McSpedon.
