Stepping into his son's boots for a day, one local dad heads to Catoonah Street to spend time with his son, a professional firefighter with the Ridgefield Fire Department.
National Take Your Son or Daughter to Work Day is a popular event recognized each spring. One Ridgefield organization put a new spin on this family initiative.
"Last week, Firefighter Behuniak took his dad to work!" Ridgefield Professional Firefighters announced on their Facebook Page.
According to the Department, Walt Behuniak was always interested in learning more of what his son did in his profession. So, after getting special permission from the Chief, Walt was able to join Matt on a shift.
"It was a busy day, but as Walt states No Fires. We're all grateful for that! Perhaps Walt would like to pursue a career in Firefighting when he grows up now!" the Department said.
