Oh, Poop! Pet Waste Station on Corner of Branchville To Be Emptied Tomorrow

Holy #$@&%*!

In the fall of 2017, after a rise in complaints involving dog waste not being picked up in Ridgefield, the Town of Ridgefield formed a dog doo committee - and their first order of business was placing dog poop receptacles (complete with poop bags) in town.

Ridgefield resident Tim McClean has volunteered to empty the waste stations and refill them with plastic bags (thank you, Tim) and he does so once a week. Clearly, once a week is not enough for the waste station located on the corner of Branchville and Main.  It's currently overflowing. The other receptacles located on Main Street are not overflowing.

We spoke to First Selectman, Rudy Marconi today and he assures residents that the waste station will be emptied tomorrow - either by Rudy himself or by Tim. He will also request that Tim empty that particular waste station twice per week.

How can Ridgefield dog walkers help? If you notice a receptacle that is filled to capacity, carry your bag to another receptacle (there is one on the corner of West Lane and Main as well as Gilbert and Main). Also, to be on the safe side, please carry your own doggie bag (in the event the receptacle isn't filled with bags).

If any resident is interested in volunteering to empty a receptacle from time to time, please let us know!
