An evening to benefit Stamford's St. Joseph Parenting Center on Friday, November 15 will honor two Ridgefield residents, John and Joan Hannigan with the Catherine A Klie Award.
This award is given to an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of the founder of the original Saint Joseph Parenting Center. This person is passionate about making a difference in the world of child abuse prevention. They are willing to give of their time, talent or treasures toward supporting programs that work towards breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect. They understand the importance of working with parents in an effort to protect the children.

The Hannigans will be recognized for their support for the Center this Friday at Stamford Yacht Club, Ocean Drive West, Stamford.
Saint Joseph Parenting Center-Stamford is a replication of the original model founded in Akron, OH in 2002 by the Executive Director, Catherine A. Klie. Measi O'Rourke joined the SJPC- Akron team in 2004 as the Director of Volunteer Services and facilitated the growth of this nonprofit parenting education center.
In 2006, Ms. O'Rourke relocated to Connecticut and started exploring the needs of parenting education in Fairfield County. In 2009, she established the Stamford branch and is currently serving as the Executive Director of SJPC in Stamford, providing vision and expertise in non- profit management.
