Meet 2020 Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield Youth of the Year Candidate, Hailey Robson

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield will host it’s annual Youth Leadership Dinner, a night to celebrate the Club and the youth that make it the special place that it is!

The dinner will honor the Club’s Character and Leadership Program members in Gem Club (for 5th-grade members), Torch Club (for middle school members) and Keystone Club (for high school members) and individually recognize members for their commitment and achievements. The dinner will also highlight 17 Youth of the Year Candidates, and attendees will have the opportunity to hear from 12 Upperclassman Candidates, as they will each spend a few minutes sharing their personal Club stories throughout the evening. The dinner will conclude with crowning the 2020 Youth of the Year, the Club’s biggest annual award.

A committee of local community leaders will interview all of the candidates and work with the professional staff to select the Youth of the Year. This year’s judges for the Upperclassman Candidates are Nicholas Donofrio, Community Leader/Former Executive Vice President of Innovation and Technology at IBM; Rob Ellis, Managing Partner of Ridgefield Capital Asset Management; Will Haskell, State Senator, Connecticut’s 26th District; Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield First Selectman; Daniela Sikora, Artistic Director for The Ridgefield Chorale. Judges for the Sophomore Candidates are Kerry Anne Ducey, Founder and Editor of HamletHub; Kathy Graham, Branch Manager of Fairfield County Bank and Jeff Kreitz, Chief, Ridgefield Police Department

The Youth of the Year winner and the top two runners-up will receive college scholarships from the Couri Scholarship Fund.

“The Youth of the Year program encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities,” said Mike Flynn, Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club.

Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that GREAT FUTURES start at the Club, and the Club is excited to honor all of the candidates, and their Character & Leadership program members at the dinner. All Club friends, supporters, donors and Club families are invited to attend the Youth Leadership Dinner on Thursday March 12, 2020 at the Ethan Allen Hotel from 7pm to 9:30pm.
