Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi Gives COVID-19 Update

In tonight's COVID-19 Town of Ridgefield update, First Selectman Rudy Marconi said Ridgefield has 80 confirmed cases with ages ranging from 2 to 102. Thanfully, there have been no additional deaths.

Marconi said, "Thank you Ridgefielders for continuing to isolate and shelter in place. Every moment you stay out of the public, away from crowds, helps us to protect ourselves and our most vulnerable residents.  Keep doing what you are doing.  Those who are still casual about the federal, state and local directives, I ask you to step up now and join the rest of us in this fight."

Updates

* Health Director Ed Briggs confirms 80 COVID-19 active cases in Ridgefield with ages ranging from 2-101.   Our current town total death toll remains at seven.
* If you feel you have symptoms, CALL YOUR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER. Your primary care provider is your first line of defense and will prescribe a test if you need it.  Immediately self-quarantine if you think you have symptoms.
* If you test positive for COVID-19, please stay at home.  Ask friends or family or one of the many volunteer organizations available to utilize takeout and curbside services. PLEASE quarantine within your home and follow CDC precautions on how to protect others living in your household.
* PLEASE put used disposable gloves in a trash can or take them home to dispose.  Tossing them on the ground is not helpful and puts those who must retrieve them for trash at risk.
* A Board of Selectman meeting on the budget will be Wednesday night at 6:30.  It will be open to the public via live stream on ridgefieldct.org and on Comcast 24. We will try to take questions and we may also have a zoom connection available.  Please be patient.  We are all finding new ways to operate and it may not yet be perfect.
* Please call your neighbors to check on them, especially those who are alone.
* Ridgefield Responds, a charity under the Friends of Ridgefield (public 501c-3) is now taking donations.  Send all contributions to: Friends of Ridgefield – Ridgefield Responds, 400 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877. Please notify employers who sponsor matching contributions.
