National Guard in Danbury: WCSU O'Neill Center Becomes Overflow Hospital

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton met with Army National Guard soldiers today at Western Connecticut State University. The O'Neill Center, a 35,000 square foot multi-purpose arena that hosts concerts, keynote speakers, trade shows and university events will now be used as a hospital.

Mayor Mark shared these photos and Tweeted @MayorMark "Honored by the work of these National Guard soldiers setting up overflow Hospital at the O'Neill Center at Westconn's westside campus".

In today's COVID-19 update, Governor Ned Lamont reported an additional 399 Connecticut residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 5,675. To date, more than 23,270 tests have been conducted in Connecticut among both state and private laboratories. Approximately 1,142 patients have been hospitalized. The total statewide total number of COVID-19 associated fatalities is 189.

Fairfield County has 3,050 COVID-19 cases and 98 people in the County have died of the virus.
