Twin Ridge Car Parade Honors Neighbors on the Front Lines
Last night the Twin Ridge neighborhood found a way to celebrate those who work in the healthcare industry. A "car train" was organized by Susan Bliss and others to give thanks to our healthcare heroes and raise spirits. It was carefully designed to maintain social distancing. Cars lined up at 6:45 and the parade moved along at 7PM.
More than 30 cars drove through the neighborhood making noise, ringing bells, honking horns while driving by each healthcare professionals home. Participation was very impressive. Many neighbors who weren’t driving in the parade were cheering from their front doors or the street holding signs, banging pots and pans.
In a thank you message to the community this morning Jim Coleman, TRHA Board President wrote, “The efforts being made by our neighbors and so many others on the frontline and behind the scenes to protect us and save lives is tremendous. We have watched daily how the sacrifices made by those trained in the medical profession have made a difference behind what any of us can imagine. We want to say a big thank you to our heroes and to those who pulled off this show of appreciation. Please stay safe and stay home. We will come through this crisis together.”
