Heartbroken Ridgefield Family Shares Story of COVID-19 on CBS Evening News

Last night, Tuesday, April 14, a broken-hearted Ridgefield family appeared on the CBS Evening News to share their tragic story of COVID-19.

On Saturday evening, April 11, the deadly virus took their beloved son and brother, Dan Spano, a perfectly healthy 30-year-old personal trainer with no underlying health conditions.

His sister Melissa explained how her brother called his parents, struggling to get the words out, saying he couldn't breathe. Dan's dad immediately jumped in the car, heading to his son's apartment, and, on the way, called an ambulance.

"We had to say goodbye to him through an iPad," his sister tearfully explained.

You can hear the Spano family tell their story HERE (go to 5:03).

Please keep the Spano family in your prayers. Our hearts are broken for them, and for all of those battling this horrible virus. Thank you to our essential workers who are putting themselves on harm's way for our community, our world.
