A birthday for 101-year-old in Ridgefield that keeps getting happier!
After we posted that it was Nelson Broms century-plus birthday (thanks for the tip Jessica Mancini) and shared his neighbor's kind act (Kathleen Fisher placed 101 balloons on his Main Street porch), the town responded with bells, whistles, honks, and - TRUMPETS!
In a surprise visit, musicians, Cristina Cutts and Noah Dugan played several songs via the trumpet including Happy Birthday, What a Wonderful World, and Somewhere Over the Rainbow on Nelson's front lawn as he and his wife Pearl listened from their porch.
Pearl and Nelson are 50 year resident of Ridgefield. Nelson is an American business executive, investor, philanthropist, and WWII and Korea Veteran.
Thanks again to Jessica for sharing the news of this monumental birthday with us!
