"No Justice! No Peace!" Ridgefielders March in Solidarity

This afternoon about 75 people, including Ridgefield Police Chief Jeff Kreitz and Major Stephen Brown, along with First Selectman, Rudy Marconi and his wife, Peggy, gathered in front of Town Hall and set out to march down Main Street in solidarity against racism. All participants wore masks.

Many who marched in this peaceful protest held signs that read, "Black Lives Matter", "Silent is Complicit", Color is Not a Weapon" and chanted, "No Justice! No Peace!" "Silence is Violence!"

Drivers who passed showed their support by honking their horns, passengers cheered out car windows, and some held American Flags.

The group stopped for a few minutes in front of the Lounsbury House where Compassionate Ridgefield created a public tribute honoring the legacy and life of George Lloyd and Ahmaud Arbery. Photos of the two men, along with a poster reading "Racism Stops with Me", are adhered to the fence. Many locals have shown their respect for precious lives lost by leaving flowers and heartfelt cards and notes.
