Ridgefielder's HamletHub Series Earns National Acclaim

After winning first place in the 2019 Connecticut Press Club Communications Contest, Collins gained eligibility for national contest

HamletHub is proud to announce that Jessica Collins won first place from the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) publishers for her story “Making Memories”, published in her series “On the Children's Shelf”.  “On the Children’s Shelf” won multiple 1st place awards in Connecticut, but this is the first time her series was recognized nationally.

The popular series is published on HamletHub’s Books, Ink where scores of book lovers join Collins in experiencing fond memories of their childhood through books.

“Jessica’s writing brings you back to some of the most enjoyable parts of your childhood. There are no words to express how excited we are to see her gain national recognition for her talents,” says Kerry Anne Ducey, HamletHub founder. “Jessica’s success is an inspiration to all HamletHub contributors”.

Sally Allen, the founder and publisher of Books, Ink, remarked, “I’m very proud of Jessica and happy to see her beautiful column receive the recognition it deserves.”

Collins said, “I've always loved children's books and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to write about so many incredible books. Seeing "On the Children's Shelf" recognized at the Connecticut Press awards and the National Press awards is such an incredible honor. Books, Ink editor and my amazing friend, Sally Allen, has been so supportive of this column over the years (and hasn't complained when her ‘to be read’ list has grown because of it)!”

Due to ongoing health concerns, Collins accepted her award in the NFPW’s first-ever online event which took place on June 6.

Collins is a lifelong reader and writer who shares stories about books, authors, and her adventures on HamltHub’s Books, Ink. Jessica lives in Ridgefield with her husband and three children and showcases her love of all things local on her blog Jessica Collins Photography.
