Longtime Ridgefield Stop & Shop Employee, Louisa Komendi 61, has Died

Louisa G Kormendi, born on August 21st, 1958, died unexpectedly, but of natural causes, at her home in Ridgefield, Connecticut on July 13, 2020, at the age of 61.

She is survived by her brother, George Kormendi, cousins Katherine Kormendi, Macgill Lynde, Christopher Lynde, Anthony Lynde, and Eugenia Esselstyn. She was predeceased by her mother, Eugenia, father John, and brothers Edward and James. Louisa also leaves behind dear friends, including those from her fellowship community in Danbury CT, former Barlow School classmates, and those with whom she worked at Stop and Shop in Ridgefield, CT for many years. Besides her connections with numerous people, Louisa was a pet owner, and over the years took doting care of her beloved cats and fish.

Outside of time spent at work and with the Fellowship Center of Danbury, CT, Louisa enjoyed sharing experiences of food, music, and a range of outings. In particular, Louisa loved music, and listened to a wide range of styles of popular music, folk music and a bit of Jazz.

Louisa deeply appreciated nature, and frequented the parks and beaches of Connecticut, especially Sherwood Island. She also liked visiting her local mall! Several times a year, she would take special trips with her brother, often to parks and museums or the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT and similar places. A particular favorite of hers was sharing a visit to see the holiday festivities in New York City.

She loved photography, taking pictures of anything that delighted her with her smartphone, one of many favorite gadgets (she was always fascinated by gadgets), and posting them for her friends on Facebook.

Louisa could appear shy, especially with people new to her, but was honest to the point of being candid. She made up for her verbal quietness with expressive writing shared with people through texts and on Facebook. As one friend stated, “I’ll miss her refreshingly honest Facebook comments.” Louisa not only leaves behind memories of her characteristic direct and honest interpersonal expression, but also of an unmistakable, hearty laugh that was contagious, and which will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.
