Creativity Connects Ridgefield: Meet Linda Baron

Creativity Connects Ridgefield

What fuels a vibrant, connected, and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Ridgefield?

When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good. Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Ridgefield.

Creativity connects us.

Meet Linda Baron, Ridgefield resident and artist.

Is there a person or organization using creativity to provoke change in Ridgefield?

For me, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists has been a place to learn, execute and share many ways of creating art. Rick Daskam; an award-winning painter, guides our group of artists. He has enabled my transition from textile designer to still life and Plein air oil painter. For several years I have participated in numerous gallery shows and the Guild’s Annual Art Walk, displaying my work at Rodier Flowers year-round.

Finish this sentence: When I think of creativity in town I think of…

When I think of creativity in town I think of how Ridgefield is a community that celebrates itself. Of all the festivals we share together, I feel that the Holiday Stroll inspires emotional creativity. Walking towards Main Street is like opening up an illuminated music box. A cultural mix of all ages and faiths who gather on a magical evening of horse and buggy rides, crystal ice sculptures seen through the eyes of children on parents' shoulders while holiday music plays.

How does creativity connect you to Ridgefield?

The moment I step outside my door I feel as if I’ve walked into an impressionist painting. Whether it’s pouring rain or an ice storm, the beauty is captivating. Wherever I walk, there is friendliness and beauty that has created a bond between my family and this historic town.
