Creativity Connects Ridgefield: Meet Danielle Verrilli, Founder of Audrey Road and AR Marketplace

Creativity Connects Ridgefield

What fuels a vibrant, connected, and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Ridgefield?

When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good. Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Ridgefield.

Creativity connects us.

Meet Danielle Verrilli, community advocate and owner of Audrey Road and AR Marketplace

Is there a person or organization using creativity to provoke change in Ridgefield?

The arts are so important to me and my family so I would have to say Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance (RCD). The teachers are amazing with the students and their community outreach is inspiring. Their work with SPHERE (a nonprofit that offers programs to enrich the lives of adults who have disabilities) is beautiful and I’m always in awe of the performance that RCD does with SPHERE members each year! I love that they partner with other nonprofits.

Any place in town where you go for inspiration and creativity?

I don’t have to go far for inspiration- my clients at Audrey Road inspire me every day! I have always been a people watcher. I think you have to be if you are in the fashion business. I’m so intrigued by the way different people can interpret the clothes and accessories I pick out for the store. I love it!! The new section of the store Audrey Road Marketplace is just exploding with local creativity. It has been so humbling to see all the ideas and hard work come to life for these designers, artists and makers.

Is there an organization in town that makes you feel good?

An organization in town that makes me feel good is Meals on Wheels. A good friend and client of mine Debra Franceschini - Gatje is on their board so I have learned a lot about it. My daughters and I have volunteered for them. Providing meals for someone in need is the most important thing. No one should have food insecurity.

Finish this sentence: When I think of creativity in town I think of …

When I think of Creativity in town I think of The Ridgefield Playhouse, The Ridgefield Theatre Barn, ACT, Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, Thrown Stone, The Aldrich and The Prospector. All of these creative minds working together to put on shows to entertain us all!! What would we do without them?

How does creativity connect you to Ridgefield?

Well, it’s hard to believe but I’m not a very social person! My shop, Audrey Road has allowed my creativity to connect me with the community. I feel so comfortable in my store and I love serving the people of Ridgefield. I’m in my element when I’m picking out a great outfit for a client's social event or putting together a great gift. I’m so grateful for the time I’ve spent on Bailey Avenue!
