Probable Case of COVID-19 at Branchville Elementary School

This morning, Aaron Crook, COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison for Ridgefield Public Schools said that the District just learned that a member of the Branchville Elementary school community has been determined to have a probable case of COVID-19 and some members of the school will be dismissed early.

"I have spoken with RPS Medical Advisor Dr. James Ahern and Town of Ridgefield Health Department Director Ed Briggs and we have determined that some members of the BES community will be required to quarantine and will be dismissed from school early today," Crook said.

Because of effective cohorting at the elementary school level, Crook said that it is not necessary to dismiss the entire school today. BES will remain open.

"We thank the RPS community for continued mitigation efforts including mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing," said Crook.
