Additional COVID Cases Reported by Ridgefield Public Schools, Contact Tracing Underway

Late this afternoon, Aaron Crook, RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison reported the District learned that a member of the Farmingville Elementary School (FES) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the FES building while they were infectious on Monday, November 23.

Crook said that the District also learned that another FES community member tested positive today. This individual was in the building and potentially infectious on Tuesday, December 1, and Wednesday, December 2nd. This individual was not exposed at FES on 11/23, and has another known source of exposure.

In addition, the District learned of another RPS community member who tested positive, impacting students at RHS, SRMS, RES and BMES. Contact tracing is underway for these exposures.

Crook says, "I have conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director, Ed Briggs, and RPS Medical Advisor, Dr. James Ahern, about these cases and contact tracing is underway. The FES community will hear from Principal Traci Mayette once contact tracing has been completed."
