COVID cases reported among RPS community, school opens tomorrow in hybrid model

RPS COVID Cases 

On Sunday evening, January 3, Aaron Crook RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison Coordinator reported that this past Tuesday, the District learned that two members of the Scotts Ridge Middle School (SRMS) community, one member of the Veterans Park Elementary School (VPES) community and one member of the Branchville Elementary School (BES) community have tested positive for COVID-19.

These individuals were not in the SRMS, VPES or BES buildings during a time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

On Wednesday we learned that two members of the BES community tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals were not in the BES building during a time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

On Thursday we learned that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community and a member of the Ridgebury Elementary School (RES) community have tested positive for COVID-19 These individuals were not in the RHS or RES buildings during a time when they were potentially infectious to others.No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

On Friday we learned that a member of the RHS community is presumed positive for COVID-19, and a member of the Scotland Elementary School community has tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals were not in the RHS or SES buildings during a time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

On Saturday we learned that a member of the BES community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the BES building during a time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

On Sunday we learned that a member of the RHS community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the RHS building during a period of time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing for RPS is needed.

Crook said, "I have conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director, Ed Briggs, and RPS Medical Advisor, Dr. James Ahern about these cases."
