Members of the RPS Community Test Positive for COVID on Sunday and Monday

This evening, Monday, January 4, Aaron Crook, COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance reported that late Sunday evening, the District learned that two members of the Ridgefield High School community and one member of Scotland Elementary community tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals were not in the RHS or SES buildings during a time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing is needed for RPS.

Several other members of the RPS community have tested positive for COVID today. Crook said, "On Monday we learned that three members of the Scotts Ridge Middle School community tested positive and another is presumed positive for COVID-19. We also learned that a member of the RHS community tested positive. Additionally, we learned that an individual who is a member of the East Ridge Middle School, Branchville Elementary school and Farmingville Elementary School communities tested positive for COVID-19."

Crook has conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director, Ed Briggs, and RPS Medical Advisor, Dr. James Ahern about these cases Please wear a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance.
