Dear Ridgefield Neighbors and Friends,
For 11 evenings in mid-December, a variety of Ridgefield homes and businesses were subjected to drive-by scrutiny from would-be voters of all ages. There were reports that some voters were wearing their pajamas. The first annual Founders Hall-iday Light Fight was on!
We are elated and grateful that Ridgefield not only embraced the Light Fight but made it the entertaining diversion we all needed this year while raising over $65,000 to connect senior citizens.
Five Ridgefielders joined our effort right from the beginning and gave us their time, ideas and energy, which made all the difference: Lori Berisford, Jenn Kubick, Paul Gervais of William Pitt Sotheby’s, Karen Amendola of Ground to Grow On Photography, and Kerry Anne Ducey of Hamlet Hub.
The Light Fight could not have happened without the early support and encouragement of our sponsors: Fairfield County Bank; Liz and Steven Goldstone; Nancy and Larry Bossidy; Jenn and Ron Kubick; the Couri family; Regional Hospice; Casey Energy; We Do Lines; Young’s of Ridgefield; Atria Ridgefield; Civility Home Care; Reese, Hirsch, Shoults & Harrison, LLC; and media sponsor HamletHub. We are grateful to each one.
We are also eternally grateful to the participants’ neighbors, who accepted cars going by their houses every evening and potentially a few turnarounds in their driveways. That is community spirit!
Most of all, we are deeply thankful to everyone who donated to this effort. All who donated brought light and hope to seniors during the darkest days of this pandemic. You are the shining lights of Ridgefield. Thank you.
Gratefully,
Grace Weber
