Ridgefield Vaccine Updates
• As the Town of Ridgefield and the RVNA continues the vaccination program, residents are reminded that ONLY those who are 75 and older and those in Phase 1a are allowed to be vaccinated at this time. Those who make appointments will be asked to sign an affidavit attesting to their eligibility to receive the vaccine when they arrive for their appointment.
• The Governor has asked that those who have mistakenly made appointments but do not fall into the current category of eligibility are asked to cancel their appointments and reschedule when their category is allowed.
• The RVNAhealht vaccination clinic at Yanity Gym is by appointment ONLY. If you are in the 1a category or are 75 or older you may sign up through the VAMS program.
o Go to ridgefieldct.org, click on the red COVID banner, click on the orange eligibility button.
o The eligibility form is NOT your registration. You must follow VAMS instructions to receive an invitation to register.
o A video outlining a step by step process for VAMS signups will be posted on the town website by early next week.
• Vaccine at the Yanity Gym is limited and residents are urged to take available appointments at nearby locations such as Nuvance-Danbury Hospital, when they are offered. Danbury Hospital receives many more doses and can handle a greater number of vaccinations.
• Please note, clinic times and dates may vary depending on vaccine doses available and weather conditions that might interfere.
• A Help Line is currently open for messages only. Someone will call you back with answers to your questions. (203) 431-2718. This line will be answered live very soon. Please be patient as we train our volunteers.
• A VAMS help video is expected to land on the town web site Covid page (under the red banner) by early next week. We are also currently training people to help those without computers or email addresses.
Governor Lamont urges all residents to beware of scammers. Vaccinations are free. No-one will ask for:
o Payment (cash or check)
o Credit card or bank information
o Social Security numbers, Passport information or other personal information (unless it is medical insurance related.)
o They will ask for your insurance card. You will not see a charge, but it allows the health care professionals who administer the vaccine to be paid for their time.
