Prospector Founder, Visionary is Keynote Speaker at 6th Annual Secondary Transition Symposium

This Friday, January 29th at 7:30 am, Valerie Jensen, the founder and visionary of The Prospector Theater will be the Keynote Speaker for the CT 6th Annual Secondary Transition Symposium

The Connecticut Secondary Transition Symposium brings students and their families together with educators and other professionals to improve secondary transition programming and services for students with disabilities.

According to Connecticut’s State Education Resource Center (SERC), the 6th annual symposium, with the theme of "Empowering Our Youth Beyond 2020," will continue to build the capacity of educators and other professionals, in partnership with middle and high school students with disabilities and their families, to help ensure successful post-school outcomes.

The symposium will be virtual this year! In addition to the Keynote given by Valerie Jensen, youth speakers will be Alana Armfield and Benjamin Sullivan.

The Symposium is hosted by the CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS), the CT Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS), the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC), the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), the State Education Resource Center (SERC), and the University of Connecticut Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD).
