LEGO® builders’ efforts win prizes at new Ridgefield Historical Society exhibit at Town Hall

St. Stephen’s Church was a popular choice for LEGO® builders in the first annual contest sponsored by the Ridgefield Historical Society. This one won the Mixed Age Group Category for Team Zides.

The Ridgefield Historical Society has announced the winners of its first annual LEGO® Sculpture Contest: St. Stephen’s Church was the top subject in two of three categories, with the third featuring Lounsbury House.

Builders could choose among 13 Ridgefield landmarks for their subjects; the structures they created will be at Ridgefield Town Hall in the front lobby exhibit cases Feb. 5 through March 31.

Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe and Squash’s Ridgefield News Store were sponsors of the contest with the Ridgefield Historical Society.

In the under-18 individual category, the winner was Miles Olsen for his depiction of Lounsbury House ($50 gift certificate to Books on the Common); Bobby Sommerer took second prize for St. Stephen’s Church ($25 gift certificate, Books on the Common) and Thomas Healey earned honorable mention for his RIdgefield Post Office ($5 gift card to Deborah Ann’s, in addition to the $5 gift card to Deborah Ann’s given to all entrants).

The over-18 first prize winner was Keith Olsen, who built St. Stephen’s Church ($100 Family Sustainer Membership to the Ridgefield Historical Society), and in the mixed age group category, top prize went to Team Zides for St. Stephen’s Church (family-style meal at Planet Pizza and five additional gift cards to Deborah Ann’s). Second prize in this category went to Team Mulvihill for Lounsbury House ($50 Supporter Membership to the Ridgefield Historical Society).
