The Ridgefield Library is also helping people to sign up for VAMS, the system that registers people for their shot.
“There is so much misinformation on social media. Accurate information is available through our reliable sources,” said First Selectman Rudy Marconi. “I’m worried about people being scammed, about people not understanding their second dose timelines, and so much more. If our helpline volunteers don’t have an answer for you immediately, be patient. They are fielding many calls and emails, but they will always get back to you as quickly as they can. You can also call my office at 203-431-2774 and we will do our best to get you the answers you need.”
The Vaccination Clinic held at Yanity Gym and sponsored by the Town of Ridgefield in partnership with RVNAhealth has currently been running for four weeks and is vaccinating the phases as outlined by the State of Connecticut.
Currently, Connecticut is in Phase 1 a with the addition of 65 and older which is the only allowed segment from phase 1 b. No other portions of phase 1b are eligible yet.
• The clinic is by appointment only. There are no walk-ins. Don’t stand out in the cold hoping for that last drop because all vials are accounted for at the end of the day
• Please keep your vaccination card in the safe place. You may be asked for proof of vaccination in the future for any number of reasons, including travel. You will need to bring this card to your second appointment.
• SAVE YOUR EMAIL AND PASSWORD ENTRIES. YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR THESE AGAIN.
• Be aware of scams. You will never be asked to pay a fee in order to be put in the vaccination line. No legitimate vaccination clinic will ask you to pay money up front for your vaccine. Do not share photos of your vaccination card, especially on social media where others can capture personal information.
• For those who have tried to get an appointment and don’t see one, check back often. Appointments open up, often on the day you are looking. Take an appointment as soon as you can within a reasonable distance, even if it isn’t your ideal location that registers people for their shot.
When you arrive for your first dose: Bring your photo ID, your insurance card, and if you are not in the age group specification, please bring identification that qualifies you in that phase. Police/Fire ID; Health Care ID, etc.
Please note: Family member caregivers, are not eligible at this time. If you are self-employed or an independent contractor working as a caregiver for someone outside your home,(those who are self-employed, independent contractors, or otherwise not affiliated with an employer group, but are eligible for Phase 1b) you may schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.
• Please bring your vaccination card and plan to save that information for future.
