COVID cases at RHS, SRMS, BES
Late last night, Aaron Crook said that the District learned that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in quarantine from exposure at an RPS sponsored event, therefore in-school transmission cannot be ruled out. No additional students or staff were placed into quarantine as a result of this case.
Crook said that today, the District learned that another member of the Scotts Ridge Middle School (SRMS) community has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the SRMS building while potentially infectious to others on Wednesday, March 3rd, and Thursday, March 4th. Contact tracing for this case has been completed.
Finally, Crook said that a member of the Branchville Elementary School community tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 2nd. This individual was not in the BES building during a period of time when they were potentially infectious to others. This individual has a known source of exposure outside of the BES school building. No contact tracing is needed.
"I have conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director, Ed Briggs, and RPS Medical Advisor, Dr. James Ahern about these cases," said Crook.
