Spring Break Fun: Keeler Activity Kits for Kids!

Keeler Activity Kits for Kids Available Now from Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center

Looking for something fun and educational to do with the kids over Spring Break? Keeler Activity Kits are on sale now at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center, either online or in the museum shop. The thoughtfully curated kits use core KTM&HC school programs to teach about state and local history in an engaging way. They explore unique stories from the museum that bring the history of where we live to life. All kits complement each other and build upon stories found in “Where I Live: Connecticut,” a resource developed by Connecticut Explored that talks about the history, culture, and geography of Connecticut. Kits range in price from $10 to $26 and are designed for kids in grades 3-5.

Melissa Houston, director of education at KTM&HC, builds the Activity Kits to connect to some of KTM&HC’s most popular youth programming. “The kits create opportunities to make learning about history fun, accessible, and relevant to young kids’ lives through hands-on experiences like quill pen writing or decoding images. Themes include colonial life and the Battle of Ridgefield, and we will be adding new themes over the coming months to create a library of Keeler Activity Kits for the whole family!”

Encourage a love of history and support Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center! Purchase Keeler Activity Kits in the museum shop or online here. Online purchases can be picked up in the Visitor Center, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or they can be shipped anywhere in the United States (shipping rates apply).
