Host Families Needed for Ridgefield A Better Chance

Ridgefield A Better Chance is a residential program providing academically motivated young women of color from educationally underserved areas the opportunity to study at Ridgefield High School and live in our community.

Every year the program welcomes two new freshmen to the program. The girls live together in the house with a residential director during the school year and are also paired with a volunteer host family from town with whom they spend quality time.

We are currently looking for new families to welcome these amazing Scholars into our community for the 2021-22 school year. Families should be able to host the Scholar once a month for the weekend. Families that can provide a safe, supportive and fun home/family experience for the girls are encouraged to apply. The program’s success relies on the generous support of the community.

Ridgefield A Better Chance is a life altering program that helps support and provide ambitious students with an excellent education that will put them in a position to reach their academic goals. Please contact RABC if you wish to find out more about becoming a host family or if you would like to support the organization in another meaningful way.
