A Message to the Ridgefield Community from Prime Burger Team

Editor's note: The owners of Prime Burger and Ridgefield Prime wrote a note to the community on Facebook in regard to an incident involving a local teen that took place at Prime Burger in April. Please read below.

As the owners of Prime Burger and Ridgefield Prime, the safety of our employees is always job #1.

Speaking aggressively and discourteously to anyone working in the service industry is unacceptable. Doing it to a high school student working for experience and to save money for college is despicable and cowardly.

Our staff is largely 16-18-year-old females. During the summer the staff expands when many former employees rejoin us during their college break. All of our employees are trained to be courteous and we operate all of our businesses under the principle that the customer is always right.

To answer a few questions raised by our concerned customers.

Does the restaurant have video cameras?
Yes, we do.

Was a manager on duty at the time of the incident?
Yes, there was. However, the incident happened so quickly the manager was not engaged.

We have fully reviewed the situation and wanted to make sure the employee, her parents, and all of our employees feel safe and want to move forward. They all want to learn from this incident and put it in the rearview mirror.

As adults let’s all be the best examples of kindness and compassion we can be to each other. Modeling good behavior is the best thing we can all do to minimize situations like this from reoccurring.

Thank you for your concern Ridgefield.
