Longtime Ridgefield resident Marvin Edward Carp, 81, has died

Marvin Edward Carp, 81, of Ridgefield, passed away on June 7, 2021. He was the loving husband of Yvette (Sussman) Carp.

Mr. Carp was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 30, 1940; son of the late Morton and Sally (Osherofsky) Carp. Mr. Carp served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. 

A resident of Ridgefield since 1976, Mr. Carp was a retired Respiratory Therapist having worked at Norwalk Hospital for over 30 years. He was a proud member of the US Marine Corps League of Ridgefield. He possessed a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He was happiest when he would spend time with friends and family. He loved traveling, theatre as well as countless hours discussing recipes with his daughters. 

Mr. Carp is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvette and their daughters, Carolyn Carp and her husband, Marc Vunak and Deborah Carp-Mandelblatt and her husband, Michael Mandelblatt. 

A graveside funeral service and military funeral honors will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the United Jewish Center Cemetery - 124 Gray’s Bridge Road; Brookfield, CT. Contributions in Mr. Carp’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), http://www.dav.org
